Among the 132 species of foraminifers known from Malm (Jurassic) deposits of south Germany, some occur preferentially in bedded limestones and marls, others in the sponge bioherm. Of the 28 species which were found in rocks of both facies, only Frondicularia moelleri angusta has stratigraphic value. The strictly segregated distribution of the various microfaunas indicates the absence of strong bottom currents.
